Did they REALLY need to delay the game for a squirrel? Are they afraid it's going to jump in the eyes of an outfielder and interrupt play?

I'm sure they were more concerned with the safety of the squirrel. I recall (though I was only 9 years old) Dave Winfield accidentally killing a bird with a line drive.

Some people had the nerve to boo him, as if it was intentional.

Thank god it wasn't a goat!
