The Hotel Room is based on The Talisman, which is a novel by Stephen King and Peter Straub. Its creator is Mathieu Ratthe, whose main objective for creating the piece was to demonstrate his directing ability and vision to the producers, Steven Spielberg and Kathleen Kennedy (who own the rights to the story).
Among the key players who lent their support to the project are Cameron Bright (X-Men: The Last Stand, Birth), who starred in the leading role; and the Montreal-based company Buzz Image (300; The Aviator), who created the visual effects. The scene was shot in two days.
