Re: FOX News says Mr. Rogers is a evil man
I may hate children, but even a bitter bastard like me knows that Mr Rodgers had a worthwhile message.
These FOX news turds really need a good healthy beating. I'd like to see Big Bird, Barney and the Teletubbies walk onto the set with chains and start kicking some pundit ass. They could finish by saying, "Rogers says he's sorry he told you that you were special. He LIED - you're not!"

Here's another video which demonstrates just how fucking awesome Mr Rogers is (and why he thought it was so important to to tell all those wet-nosed little ankle bitters that he thought they were special):

I would too, but it would be against everything Fred Rogers stood for.

Yet again, Fox fails to name their "Source" and their "Experts"
Was the Alabama Community College? Or Yale?
Okay well, I guess Yale doesn't really count either.

Re: FOX News: Mr. Rogers is an Evil Man
I was giving some guy a hard time the other day because he thought a character from The Onion might be real. Well... after seeing FOX News discuss Mister Rodgers and claim that he was wrong to tell little children that they are special for who they are, I think I may have been a tad unfair. FOX News is virtually on par with The Onion.
Being mean for the sake of being mean is always great fodder for funny -- so long as it's not completely serious.
That said, FOX News cast are nothing more than compete dipshits if they honestly think Mr Rodgers was bad for kids. Truly. Ignorance like that is beyond astounding; it's deplorable. I mean, what are THEY saying to kids? It's ok to be a fucking ignorant moron on national news?
Unless it is just for laughs (or to blow off steam), it isn't cool.

Could be wrong, but I'm pretty sure its tongue in cheek.

Hard to tell with those news hacks. Laughing or not.
Your right though, common sense would suggest that they're stretching.

Fox Headlines:
This just in..
Tree's painted by Bob Ross were not actually "happy".... Also, his clouds, we're just regular old clouds that don't deserve anything in this world that they don't work for.... Is Bob Ross to blame for the rampant lazy whinny attitude ruining America? Stay tuned after these short messages

Re: FOX News: Mr. Rogers is an Evil Man
Why will people get on board with bullshit like this but not with cartoon or video game violence influencing real life violence? You really think Mr. Rogers is more engaging than Grand Theft Auto?
I don't see how you can't have it both ways. Either Mr. Roger's doesn't hurt kids' development, or video games may just be affecting the little fuckers.
I submit to the jury a cake via cakewrecks for a four-year-old's birthday.

Re: FOX News: Mr. Rogers is an Evil Man
The parents should be dragged into the street and flogged. Awesome fucking game... but not acceptable for children under 7 (at least).

Re: FOX News: Mr. Rogers is an Evil Man
Really classy of Fox to beat on a man after he's dead. If Mr. Rogers was alive they would never do this story. Imagine the headlines saying
"Fox News attacks Mr. Rogers, a man that devoted his life to helping children."

Re: FOX News: Mr. Rogers is an Evil Man
I think its clear that these hosts have a lived a life with a significant lack of any one telling THEM they are special. But from my point of view, I think I can see why that is.

Re: FOX News: Mr. Rogers is an Evil Man
At first I thought this must be satire. But this fox guy doing all the talking--without saying anything new--seems to actually believe he's being serious. Very annoying--I can't fathom why anyone would choose to listen to this blathering doofus.
Discrediting a man who earned several degrees rigorously studying early childhood dev't, and who cared deeply about humanity's future... it's disgusting. I personally wasn't a big fan of Fred's show. But his message--Everyone is Special--is true. And fundamental.
The researcher claiming this message impairs an individual's capacity to work hard to accomplish things in life--either he is making some absurd connections, or the fox guy has failed to grasp what he was saying in the research snippet he saw.
These supposed kids who're arguing for A's without doing their homework--? How many kids is this? If teachers are giving into this nonsense, there's your problem. Being able to appreciate everyone's intrinsic value as a person, and their dignity, are essential for achieving a society of mostly happy people, imho. Working toward goals and finding success in life build from it--it's not like anyone (you'd think) would see it as though it's either one or the other!

Re: FOX News: Mr. Rogers is an Evil Man
The message isn't about Mr. Rogers. Their focus on him just makes Fox News seem more pathetic than usual.
The real message from corporate media is that "You are not special."
You're only special if you're a valuable worker to the corporate empire. Hello Chinoamerica!
And uh...what's up with that crazy Republican stripper about 5 minutes in?

Re: FOX News: Mr. Rogers is an Evil Man
I think one of the reasons they are going after Mr. Rogers was because he was on PBS- which Fox believes is a den of liberals and gays.
I am so GLAD I don't watch TV and it's because of crap like this. Fox is bad, even most of the other channels are bad (IMHO). I get my news from BBC and they tend to be neutral (as far as I can tell).
