Daily Show: Annihilating Sarah Palin's Media Surrogates
We should not even be talking about Sarah Palin because it's sexist.

From The Daily Show with Jon Stewart.

There are times when the Daily Show just outclasses any real news broadcast. Without the jokes that could have been played by any legitimate news organization as a perspective piece - if any legitimate news service did that kind of quality analysis these days.

It's a shame the ignorant masses won't see any of this. They happily listen to the last thing they here from Fox and pretend it was their own idea. <sigh>

Sometimes I wish the Daily Show took itself more seriously so that it couldn't be discounted as a "comedy show". They have some poignant insight into a lot of the bullshit going on in the US political arena. You don't see it anywhere else.

AGGHH! *brain aneurysm*!

No wonder Ambien is so common here in the US. People like Palin, McCain, Rove, O'Rielly, Hannity, and the rest need to take it by the gallons just to sleep at night.

Sarah Palin's "speech" at the GOP Convention was so bad.

She was obviously reading words that someone else wrote for her. She can't even think for herself.

Most women (aka not those on corporate media) are saying Palin was an embarrassment to her gender because she needed a man (McCain's speech writer) to tell her what to say.

And now she's spending so much time talking about how much she hates Obama.

All right. I get it. You don't like the black man.

Now tell me what you're gonna do for this country.

I'm not even an Obama fan. But 'til she stop bashing Obama and trotting out her daughter's baby daddy on the news, I'll be ignoring her for someone who focuses on issues.

Re: Daily Show: Annihilating Sarah Palin's Media Surrogates
Actually, while I agree with you that the speech was bad in terms of substance (and it was sheer torture to watch and listen to), I thought it worked well considering what McCain and Co. were (are) trying to achieve. What I mean is that the speech will do well with quite a few dimwits. As many correctly know, this election isn't about issues, it's about personality, about image, packaging.

That's why Obama would do well to polish his Politics 101. He loses ground by appearing on O'Reilly and pandering to him and his viewers. His strength was END THE WAR. He must keep things easily digestible. Affordable healthcare for everyone, end the war, lower taxes for the middle class and poor. If he doesn't look out, he'll lose to Mrs. Moose Burger and her Maverick.

Let the debates begin ... (they'll be great fun).

In her speach she mentioned that she was offered money to help build some huge-ass bridge to nowhere, but said thanks but no thanks. This is BS she took the money but didn't spend it on the bridge.

Actually, that is a fact. Her speechwriter is named Matthew Scully, and he is a former Bush speechwriter. (Surprised?)

Google it.

As far as I know, Obama wrote his own nomination speech, as he also wrote his own statement on race and America. However, he also has a speechwriter -- 26 year old Jon Favreau. But it is nonetheless very unusual for any politician these days to write *any* of their own speeches -- Obama has written some of his best ones.

I'm not sure who Biden's speechwriter is, although I believe he used a new one for the nomination (disappointing many people who are accustomed to more fiery speeches from Biden).

McCain's speechwriter is Mark Salter, who has been writing speeches for him for a long time, and co-authored every book McCain wrote.

What is funny is if you think Carl Rove is stupid. They didn't want you picking a small town hero, reformer, or a woman you morons (for gods sake why didn't he pick Hilary)? Yes you all agree with me don't you? So now Dems are going to lose to people from small town America, and the fly over states like always, makes me laugh. Yes most of America come from smaller towns and like the McCain Palin ticket where we liked Obama before, like me. Biden over Palin? Send her to a foreign county and they will fall in love with her and you all know it. Jon Stewart, Obama ain't perfect either, rrrrright...Austin Powers...
