Jesse Ventura's speech at the Rally for the Republic ...

Re: Jesse Ventura: Rally for the Republic
If you watch nothing else, fast-forward to about 20:30 for Jesse's view on Osama bin Laden and how badly this administration has mangled 9-11.

Brilliant speech. Brilliant man who has caught my imagination.

I watched it yesterday at The Real News Network. I believe it was live.

Anyway, this one speech by Jesse contains more nutrients than all the speeches of the DNC & RNC combined. That is, of course, my opinion.

Well-put.

The funny thing about the ultra conservatives, though: They want smaller government and less involvement of it in people's lives. But they want the government to tell women what they can and cannot do to their bodies. I believe it's called hypocrisy.

The funny thing about the ultra liberals, though: They are soft on foreign policy and instead of military might, want to sing Kumbaya to our enemies.

Re: Jesse Ventura: Rally for the Republic
Foreign policy, in my opinion, should be aimed toward building lasting friendships with all people of the world, to give everyone equal and honest chances at a better life, and expressing your values while at the same time living by your word (honor). At no moment must there be any mention or show of military prowess, unless someone expressly vows to destroy you -- after you've done everything you can do within reason to be friends.

Now, I had begun to write a few lines about dictators, natural disasters, and various political systems, but it would cost me quite a bit of time to explain how in my opinion to deal with that. However, the natural disaster one is easy: help the victims (sustainable help).

As to your mention of enemies, it is my sincere opinion that the USA would not be facing any (or maybe a very few) enemies if it acted according to the few basic rules I outlined above. And this goes for all countries and people of this world.

Unfortunately, things are deteriorating fast in the world.

Returning to the upcoming American election, Obama is rising in many polls. However, the GOP is working over hours to spin and twist everything that can be spun and twisted. Relatively few people are informed voters. In the end, McCain might come out as the one with 'more personality, the strong defender of America, the war veteran, the one who you can rely on.' Obama does not connect with a sizeable slice of America, he is 'opaque, untrustworthy, has little experience, is black, Muslim, a killer of babies, soft on national defense.' Hack a few of those voting machines, and there you are. Still, the democratic turnout was huge in the primaries. Right now, Obama would win. In a couple of months ... a missile is easily launched.

The one thing missing is actually a really strong Independent on ballots all over the country. It doesn't work to divide all those votes over Nader, Barr, and others.

Re: Jesse Ventura: Rally for the Republic
Wait. Correction. There are a whole lot of things missing (not just one thing), but what I mean is that a really strong Independent on the ballots and in the debates could wake up many more people in time. McCain in office would be an almost mortal blow to America. Why wait until 2012 when there might not be a 2012?

Re: Jesse Ventura: Rally for the Republic
Hey, I don't agree with the right's view of the ultra-left. I just threw that into the mix because quite frankly, I was stumped for a few moments. Maybe I am a Democrat at heart. Left-leaning for certain, and I think that the evidence here bears that.

Back to the clip, Jesse's point on The Second Ammendment was awesome. It's not about gun ownership, it's about rebelling against the government in charge. Tell Wayne LaPierre that.
