McCain Under Pressure
Tire Rotation: As metaphors go ... Senator McCain just got a flat. After nearly a week during which he, his surrogates, and the RNC spent mocking Senator Obama for suggesting -- in response to a question -- tire inflation as a way to improve mileage and save gas ... Senator McCain has come out and endorsed (drum beats) tire inflation! as a way to improve mileage and save gas. Our fifth story on the Countdown: Senator McCain spinning his wheels. Another apt metaphor.

Re: McCain Under Pressure
Are we that stupid to think that Obama's answer to our fuel and gas crisis is tire inflation? Until he can realize the short term advantages of off shore drilling and the long term goal of expansive nuclear power to further our independence of foriegn oil, and need of thankless other counrties energies, he will raise pointless taxes like all democrats to fund garbage programs, as not to care about anything but bigger government and fewer americans rights. The estimated decrease in gas costs per driver would be .12 cents a gallon with tire inflation, while 1 more off-shore well will reduce the costs by almost .35 cents. If you dont keep your tires properly inflated anyways, then you shouldn't be crying about gas prices to begin with. Oh, and remember a tune up and frequent oil changes too. But I'm sure Obama was thinking about that. I'm just waiting for the dipstick. I'll take 5 so I can forward the good word.

Re: McCain Under Pressure
You've got to be kidding me?

AAA says proper tire inflation will improve gas mileage and Obama also said regular vehicle maintenance will improve mileage.

Let me point out something. The current crisis with mortgage industry was caused by Bush, Sr when he removed regulation of the industry (which was imposed after the 1929 Wall Street crash). Since that time, mortgage lenders have had no oversight of their lending habits, and anyone was able to abuse the system, which they did. That was someplace bigger government was supposed to be.

Fewer rights- what a fucking joke! We have few rights now than ever before since Bush Jr got to office. Police, FBI, CIA, TSA, can do what they like anytime, anywhere, to anyone. And just like that, an American citizen, BY BIRTH, can be stripped of their rights and detained or expelled to another country. Own a laptop? Don't leave the country with it or it will be seized when you return.

Oh, how about Bush's wasteful spending? The US is more in debt than ever before, in fact, he has almost DOUBLED IT! Our money is shit now because of him and his lies have trashed us the world over. McCain's rhetoric is the same. If increasing taxes will allow us to pay off debt, and increase the value of our money, then we are better off in the long run. We have to take responsibility for our spending habits or the world will own us for sure.

Off shore drilling will NOT amount to a hill of beans for the next 6 or more years!! The oil companies still have to find places to drill (though they know oil is there) to get maximum yield and they still have to make the rigs to do the drilling, and those have to be CUSTOM made for EACH location. They are not cookie cutter designs, so drilling rigs take 3 years to build, surveying takes just as long.

Your response was rather empty and full of FUD...just like Bush and his cronies.
