I'm Iranian and I don't trust the guy one bit. I love my country but I find patriotism unacceptable and people should always pursue the greater good.

In this case that would be ensuring the people of Iran aren't forced back into chaos. Hope you guys realise that sanctions on Iran just make the situation worse for the people within the country as it only allows the suppressive regime to become even powerful in undermining human rights.

Re: Mahmoud Ahmadinejad NBC Interview
But Mahmoud opposes the Bush regime, is a champion for the world's poor, and is a bullwark against zionist ambitions. He also advocates spreading the truth about 9/11. Hezbollah are fighting for the freedom of the Palestinian people, and Israel has nukes so why shouldn't Iran?

Since sanctions are off the table, and a military strike would just be another attempt for the American empire to steal more oil, there is no solution to oppose this regime. Therefore we must coopt them and cease our support for the existance of Israel. Its the only way.

Re: Mahmoud Ahmadinejad NBC Interview
I can understand the US support for Israel but I cannot stomach the lies it puts forth like, "how we support democracies" and such. It's purely for the religious right (remember, judgement day is coming) and the Jewish vote.

That said, how many billions are spent in military aid under the guise of 99 year payment plans for weaponry? So with a democratically elected government in Iraq now (not like they're a puppet government installed like in Afghanistan or anything), how many billions will the US spend in aid to those two nations?

C'mon. Think people.

Re: Mahmoud Ahmadinejad NBC Interview
The argument that Iran should have nuclear weapons just because Israel does is absurd, no countries, particularly not ones involved in a dispute based on religion, should be given the right to have nukes.

By advocating the truth behind 9/11 do you mean he supports a conspiracy theory? I mean, I agree that U.S. support of Israel is kind of ridiculous but come on, the guy doesn't believe the holocaust happened, I think it's safe to say he's an antisemite and a little bit off his rocker.

Re: Mahmoud Ahmadinejad NBC Interview
The only way you are going to prevent this guy from getting a bomb is a military strike. Israel and America are just itching for an excuse to attack Iran and steal their oil, and to wipe out the Palestinian resistance once and for all.

A nuclear armed Iran may actually hedge the expansion of the American empire, and prevent Israel from eliminating Hezbollah so that the resistance may continue.

So the guy denies the holocaust. Big deal. Israel won't even recognize the holocaust they are committing to the palestinians, and No American administration will ever admit the role that the government played in carring out 9/11.

Re: Mahmoud Ahmadinejad NBC Interview
I agree about the net result of sanctions. But the current US regime claims that negotiating with him would show weakness. Riiiiiiiggght. Like the DPRK negotiations.

The only reason invading and occupying North Korea is off the table is because they have no oil. Oh wait, what about the country that neighbors them, is their ally and has an army of about 600 million men?
