McCain Graduated Fifth from the Bottom of his Class
That's 894th of 899. No wonder he can't work a computer.

Give him credit for being honest. It's rare, and a breath of fresh air.

It's a plus, but it just means he can make an honest mistake. He has nothing on Ron Paul, who is honest and competent, the most worthy candidate who attempted the primaries. He was also an air force flight surgeon, so there is his requisite military experience. He's also charming and folksy. I don't know what's wrong with America. He appears to be, and in fact is actually a brilliant candidate who actually cares about America. McCain can tell war stories and stumble over a teleprompter, and while it's great that he's honest, it's not enough. Not that it matters. We'll probably be knee deep in nuclear fallout from instigating war with Iran by mid-century.

The only thing that's wrong with America is that the people don't run the country. Ron Paul is exceedingly competent, but the people in charge know a threat when they see one.

p.s. Paul's campaign is the only one I've ever contributed to.

Re: McCain Graduated Fifth from the Bottom of his Class
Most people who seek public office do so with the intent of making the country a better place. The problem comes because we all have a different idea of what will make this country better. Personally, I'm as suspect of Ron Pail as I am of John McCain. Paul has a laissez faire attitude, which seems appealing to all you intelligent members of the MilkAndCookies Community. Problem is that not all Americans are intelligent or considerate. And, a free market, hands-off government won't protect you against people who have no interest in protecting your well-being. For example: lack of regulation is what has caused things like The Stock Market Crash of 1929, The Great Depression, and The Savings and Loan Scandal. It's a very difficult, costly thing to break down the structures of government and rebuild, it seems a lot more effective to use pre-existing structures to implement changes you wish to see, plus it seems as though there's some wisdom to be garnered from how the system has developed and changed in the last 200+ years since the Constitution was written. As for John McCain: he calls his wife a c*nt. That's enough reason not to vote for him.

I agree completely. Either libertarianism or anarchy would work great, if only everyone could behave with respect and love for others and the planet. And be organized enough to do so without inadvertently causing physical harm.

Govt ultimately has to be what drives the solution--whether it's through raising standards and controls over those it employs, or pulling back and focusing on the fundamentals: public schools, healthcare, clean air & water, and supporting ecosystems so they may continue to support biologic diversity for needs of future generations.
