Karl Rove Fled The Country To Avoid Congressional Hearings
Karl Rove was scheduled to testify before the House Judiciary Committee yesterday. He didn’t show. Not only that, the Committee was told that Rove had left the country on a “long scheduled” trip.
In this video clip, Rep. Linda Sanchez explains that Rove never told them about any trip.

Re: Karl Rove Fled The Country To Avoid Congressional Hearings
Rove has admitted guilt by fleeing the country rather than reporting as ordered. Just like the government wiretapping its citizens, if Rove had nothing to hide, he shouldn't mind testifying.
And the other story is Rep. Cannon (R-Utah) mewling like a b!tch trying to get anyone to agree that Rove didn't get chased out of the US like a yella coward. There were *no* takers to agree with Cannon's lunacy...
And so it's no wonder Cannon lost his own primary to another Republican because his constituents have lost so much faith in him, the GOP, and our public servants as a whole.
Nicely done Team Bush. Nicely done...

Re: Karl Rove Fled The Country To Avoid Congressional Hearings
I'm scared for the US, seriously. The corruption in their highest levels of government is so transparent; even those who wish do correct it cannot seem to accomplish much. Such a shame.
(Then there is the economy...)
What a callous group of people the Bush administration are. How do they sleep at night? They have created such a sickening mess with their deceptions and their incompetence over the last 7 years.
Rove strikes me as a guy who is completely amoral. Smart as hell, but devoid of any sense of responsibility. He wants power and influence too much to actually give a shit.
I really hate people like him. Hope he receives some justice (wishful, yes).

Evisceration is too good for him.

Re: Karl Rove Fled The Country To Avoid Congressional Hearings
What about an instructional film about how pigs are commonly slaughtered? I bet you won't hear PETA crying if you use Rove.
Better yet would be to honor the Republic. You know, the American Republic ... It's not in good shape right now, but bring Rove to justice and my! that would revitalize American Law and Order.

No one becomes president without believing they have the country's best interests in mind. You might think this is absurd with how badly things have gone, but you can blame that on ignorance of reality and surrounding yourself with people of very poor moral fiber, as Bush has done.
So, that's how he sleeps at night. He probably believes he hasn't done anything wrong.

No, he knows that he has broken the law for selfish reasons. He sleeps at night just fine I'm sure, but for very different reasons. I've heard it said that the secret is to put stacks of the hundred dollar bills you've made screwing American Democracy, and whenever you find yourself thinking of the dead bodies in New Orleans that you let die because of political reasons (here's the trick), you run your fingers over the edges of the bills and breath deeply.
If that doesn't work, I'm sure he just masturbates to thoughts of George and Dick :)

Re: Karl Rove Fled The Country To Avoid Congressional Hearings
Good point.
I find it hard to gauge G W's level of intelligence. His 'legacy' has plenty of examples to support the claim that the man is profoundly stupid, but could any of that just be a show? I cannot tell, my brain is still trying to comprehend why so many people voted for him in 2004 (Yes... it was good ol' homo-hating Christians who wanted the jackass to continue).
The human mind is a very malleable thing; reality can always be re-configured to suit a purpose. This is how Bush can justify his actions to himself: "A little evil for a greater good".
However, even the perception of a 'greater good' can be twisted around; as we have seen with the results of Bush's choices. Things are much worse off now than before the prick started the job - and not because of 911. Bush & Co are mostly to blame because they worked so furiously to create the current situation. Maybe they honestly believed they were doing a good thing in the long run. Yet, how the fuck they could do this is another mystery to me.
My best guess is that Bush is brainwashed, while guys like Rove and Cheney just don't care. They work to protect the interests of the wealthy Americans that support them - to hell with everyone else.

Winston Churchill once said, and the man was as eloquent as they come, something along the lines of "Nothing is more dangerous than an intolerant idealist".
I'm invoking Churchill here, under the slight possibility that the actions of the bush administration over the last seven years has anything to actually do with the propaganda they've been spewing out. Add to that the incompetence angle, and whew, what a titanic mess!
Of course, the other possibility is much more insidious - that this is all part of the master plan, bluntly executed, to steal everything including the kitchen sink.
Anyway, I could rant on an on, but I've done it many times before, so I'll quit right about... here.

I love the weasel like look this guy shoots Sanchez after casually informing her that Karl is on a "long planned trip"."You are aware of course..blah blah.."
Yeah..a trip.That's it.
