On July 9, 2008, 69 members of the U.S. Senate voted to abolish the 4th amendment and protect the President of the United States and his friends from illegal activities perpetrated upon the people of the United States in direct violation of the United States Constitution.
28 Senators voted NO. This is what some of them had to say about HR 6304.

Won't some kind intern give this bullshit president a blowjob in the next 200 days so we can impeach him?

Re: Senate Votes to Abolish 4th Amendment
You can thank Congresswoman Nancy Pelosi, California, 8th District for refusing to bring articles of impeachment against the president. They're all a bunch of lily-livered do-nothings. But, I guess, we the people have gotten the leaders we deserve.

PS> As a Vermonter: let me be the first to say, that the esteemed senators from Vermont, Bernie Sanders and Patrick Leahy, deserve credit for voting "No" on this bill. At least 21 senators seem to be critical thinkers.

Re: Senate Votes to Abolish 4th Amendment
Naturally, Obama voted "Yea". Now that's "change you can believe in"! Not!

Re: Senate Votes to Abolish 4th Amendment
Thanks. But how is it that Specter, who's shown in the above video to be pretty much against granting retroactive immunity in this case, voted Yea?

Re: Senate Votes to Abolish 4th Amendment
Well, this vote is kind of like the "magic bullet theory" that he pooped out back in his Warren Commission days.

Re: Senate Votes to Abolish 4th Amendment
And apparently, that Clinton bitch voted against it. Wha? Not that that matters: in about four years she'll change her mind -- or doesn't recall she voted Nay (sniper fire in the Senate and all that).

Muslim? Aside from Michelle Malkin's blog, where did you read that?

Re: Senate Votes to Abolish 4th Amendment
At the risk of commenting too many times on this video (which is very important), I think that all thinking Americans face a difficult choice in this election. Obviously, I strongly recommend you do not give McCain any moment's thought; but what about Obama, who has shown true colors at least for the second time now? Will you still vote for him, genuinely liking him and/or his policies (if you can find any besides his populist messages that are often common sense to begin with - or his Bush-sucking ones)? Or, will you vote for him and thereby hope to suppress McCain but risking huge disappointment later on (because Obama, while obviously smart and a charismatic guy, might just be riding this tide of anything anti-Bush and won't bring real change). I, for one, won't vote for someone who has voted in favor of this BS Bill. Not that it really matters (or maybe it does) what I think, not being American. I'm one of those 'crazy' people who would have voted for Paul or (second choice) Kucinich, you know.
Hey, and remember, you can always vote None of the Above and enjoy the ride.

Re: Senate Votes to Abolish 4th Amendment
I'm not American. I'm English. Our country seems to be speeding towards a totalitarian society much like the US. We have the added joy of the comepletely undemocratic EU (making about 80% of laws now) and no one remotely like Ron Paul or Dennis Kucinich. No yet anyway. It's sad that with two great choices and a country hungry for change people went for Obama and McCain. It's Kerry vs Bush all over again.
I have a tough time working out the appeal of Obama. Certainly it's great to see so many Americans willing to support a non white candidate. And as you say he's smart, charismatic and great public speaker. And he voted against the invasion and occupation of Iraq too. But he's continually voted to keep that war funded. He voted to make Condaleeza Rice (she who helped sell that war) Secretary of State. He's advocated bombing Iran (as far back as 2004 and very recently at the AIPAC conference he made it clear that military action was on the table). He's advocated bombing Al Qaeda in Pakistan. He wants to increase the number of troops in Afghanistan. He wants to increase the US miltary by 100,000. He's publicly praised George HW Bush for the first Gulf War I (another war launched on a pack of lies).
One of his main advisors is Zbigniew Brzezinski who was the architect of the Russian/Afghan war and the creator the the Mujahideen (which became the Taliban and Al Qaeda). Not a guy I'd be asking advise from.
He has all sorts of other unpleasant advisors too and is funded by all the big corporations. What change is he going to bring?

Re: Senate Votes to Abolish 4th Amendment
That is true.
Anyway (how I like that word), I'm Dutch. I live in what might well be one of the most liberal countries of the world, but yet, trust me, that is mostly illusion. Fact is, like so many other countries, Holland is turning into a totalitarian society, too, lorded over by the EU. I've come to realize that many of the countries that are losing freedoms (and more, such as dignity) share many problems, the biggest of these being the incredible stupidity (I mean utter dumbness) of a large percentage of the population. And it's not just stupidity; I look at the people here, in the neighborhood, in the city, everywhere, and most are despicable rude creatures concerned with nothing but their moronic whatever it is they do. Oh, and they like to harass others not like them. That is what bothers me most, perhaps. Daily, I'm sure, more and more good people commit suicide, just because they've had enough. It's difficult, if you're not like the masses and haven't got the money to get above all the shit, to live a good life. And it's getting worse for the good people who still remain, or will see the light of day in coming years.

Re: Senate Votes to Abolish 4th Amendment
Well for one thing he won't be undermining the Constitution, expanding executive powers, and bringing about more debt. Also, all the talk about keeping military action on the table is bullshit. The next president is not going to risk pulling that again, it's just to please idiots who think democrats can't handle national security.
