A non-Newtonian fluid that changes from a liquid state to a solid state when stress is applied (ie shaking of the metal sheet with sound waves)

Doesn't sound nearly as mysterious or scientific when you just call it cornstarch and water. Just as much fun though.

That was really pretty cool. It certainly looked like little humanoid shapes rising at times.
