Fred Phelps reminds me of the Chris Rock bit about the difference between black people and n*ggers. Everything white people hate about black people, black people really hate about black people. Well everything atheists hate about Fred Phelps, Christians (such as myself) really hate about Fred Phelps. He makes all of us look bad. George Carlin was a comedic genius, that goes without saying even though I just said it. He also seemed like a decent person. After all, he spent his career making people laugh.

What's the big deal. If you guys are not Christian, then you don't believe in hell, and well what does it matter what Phelps thinks? If you are Christian, then you realize that it takes more than appearing to be a "pretty decent fellow" to get into heaven. And of course no one knows who is or isn't in hell, so Phelps guess is as good as anyone's.

The real tragedy here is that George can't personally respond to this idiocy, because he's dead. His body was cremated, so there was a burning, but it didn't lasy for all eternity, and George wasn't there to experience the event.

The concept of the existence of an "afterlife", especially one that offers the only two options being "Heaven & Hell" is an absurd primitive superstition that arises from numerous other absurd primitive superstitions.

Carlin's only "afterlife" is his legacy of genius that was recorded on audio, video. and paper while he was still with us.

Those who do believe in "heaven & Hell" are equally mirrored in their superstitions by Jihadists who believe that they will be rewarded with a large number of "Virgins" after ending their own life, which while it was still vital would have been their only actual opportunity to even meet any virgins.

Heaven & Hell only exist for each of us in our individual here & now. Once we cease to function, we're done. That's end game, no replay. No virgins, no angels, no St. Peter, no pearly gates, no devil, no hellfire and brimstone, no eternal torment, not even so much as a purgatory. Nada, zip, zilch, zero. None.
