When many companies would rather have some 3rd world country employee without an education over an American with four years of college on his back you know it is a lower-end job.

Tell your roommate to have some other practical business classes. The tech field is dead. Trust me. I have more letters after my name than in my name and I'm doing freakin' end user support after more than two years without employment. I was a regional VP for a large PR firm before that.
