Before Wolfenstein 3D and Return to CW was Castle Wolfenstein (a.k.a.
Wolfenstein 2D) and Beyond Castle Wolfenstein, two computer game masterpieces and instant classics.
What made Castle Wolfenstein so great back in the old days was the fact that the enemies yelled at you.
When you shot them they screamed.
This was one of the first computer games that featured speach.
When you got away they cussed.
It was great.
And, you never knew when those dreaded SS were going to pop into the room unexpectedly.
Beyond Castle Wolfenstein took much more thought as was much more complicated.
In BCW there was a suitcase bomb to find, first aid kits, tool boxes, alarms to disable and guards to bribe.
In BCW I missed being able to toss grenades and hold-up the guards.

Great game, played it on my Apple II + , could be hard as hell trying to find your ass out of that castle though.
