Charlotte Iserbyt served as Senior Policy Advisor in the Office of Educational Research and Improvement (OERI), U.S. Department of Education, during the first Reagan Administration, where she first blew the whistle on a major technology initiative which would control curriculum in America's classrooms.

Wow, I was really prepared to like this clip. But, the longer she talks, the more obvious it is that she's talking to, and hoping to gain the support of, people who are not like me. Her derisive tone of voice when she mentions tolerance for other religions pretty much says all I need to know about her.

Since when is sex education and secularism in education a bad thing? How could anyone oppose empathy for the poor? This is a prime example of Cowboy social theory (individualism) in American politics versus public education. The title should read:

At first I was hoping this would go into facts that our government and some religious groups are trying to dumb up our students. Instead, it's just someone who has a problem with freedom of religion, letting children explore things and understand poverty and be fortunate for what they have. She is part of the problem instead of a solution or voicing anything useful to the current situation of today. I took school back when Reagan was in office. This is disappointing to hear her say these things.

Wow.
So her problem with Reagan's palicies was that they were not mean-spirited enough? What she means by "dubing down" seems to be any attempt to teach about certain topics (sex, drugs, death, suicide). I'm not sure what she means by "death-ed" but I never got anything like that in American public schools.
This is amazing. So teaching about sex and tolerating non-Christians is causing our kids to be dumber. That's a new one on me.
