Re: Brainiac: Cooking an Egg with 200 Mobile Phones
i suspect that more radiation would be around the antenna than around the base (because the antenna is where the information enters the phone!)
I'd like to see this (or do it if i can get 199 more phones) with all of the antennas pointing AT the egg, not just piled on.

An antenna doesn't just "bend" radiation towards it when receiving. Radiation is all around and the antenna just picks up on it. Now, if the egg pile were to SEND data, you would actually have 100 sources of radiation right by the egg.
I can't believe they missed this.

Not very scientific was it. Just the usual dumbed down TV crap.
I read about an experiment where they placed an egg between two mobile phones and then set up a call between the two phones. Apparently it hardboiled the egg although it took about an hour.

Let's see the same question handled by Mythbusters and then we'll have an actual, scientific answer.
