National Geographic: Stuffing Dead Pets
Stumper has gone to Rabbit Heaven, but his body went to the taxidermist. Warning: some graphic moving images of Stumper at the hands of the taxidermist. But don't worry: right now, Stumper is hopping from pink heavenly cloud to pink heavenly cloud, all the while chewing on juicy carrots (and some alfalfa). If you listen carefully, he can be heard mumbling "What's up, Doc?" And always, after an especially tasty carrot, Stumper laughs merrily with that rabbity laugh of his. He has almost forgotten those long days in that damned cage.

What about that girl of five? I can picture her coming home from school and finding Stumper's cage all empty and smelling of antiseptic. Then, getting worried (nibbling her lower lip), she suddenly spies Stumper sleeping on the TV set. She reaches out her hand, and -- a heavy something rests on her shoulder. She turns. Her father's face is grim. His voice booms in her ears: "He's dead now. I had him stuffed today. He'll be with you always, now."

As a vegetarian, I'll pass. You 'stuff' (hah!) it into your mouth. Bon appétit.

Rewording the opening conversation between the taxidermist and the father with a bullshit filter:

"Hey my five year old daughter's rabbit died, can you help me confuse the shit out of a child who doesn't have a grasp of what death means so that she'll be emotionally stunted for years to come?"

"Sure, what would be the least traumatic pose to put it in?"

"Well it slept a lot. So if you make it look like it's sleeping she might not even notice for a week, until his food starts piling up."
