i got into an argument at a bar with a nuclear engineer (i know it sounds like a joke). he was very sure that transmutation was going to save us....but i said it won't save every generation after us.
there's a very good "Eyes of Nye" episode about how bad of an idea nuclear power is. i'll try to find some links to it
