Where did this happen? The guy sounded like he was speaking German. I hope no one was hurt.

That was in the netherlands on the 20st of may 2000, and he was speaking dutch.

It's from the dutch town Enschede. It happened May 13th 2000. 100 tonnes of fireworks exploded. 400 houses were reduced to their foundations and another 1,000 damaged. At least eighteen people were killed. A further 946 were injured...

It's very likely the cameraman was Marcel van Nieuwenhoven, who died that day. I've been poking around, and I can't confirm that he's the guy who was filming, but there's a lot of circumstantial evidence to suggest he was.
