Re: Ron Paul: They Won't Shut Me Up
Its refreshing to see a republican candidate that actually stands for what the party was supposed to be about before the christian coalition got involved.
republicans -> less fed control
democrats -> more fed control
Although I have to say universal health care is very important to me. And some things need fed regulation. A totally free market could take advantage of people. BUT fed regulation is also very corrupt right now and I wouldn't be apposed to deregulation in alot of area's. The fed reserve is a scam. Also income tax makes sense. sales tax is a tax on the poor because its a flat tax.

Re: Ron Paul: They Won't Shut Me Up
You, like far too many voters, have the wrong idea about the federal sales tax. I challenge you to read The Fair Tax Book, and actually educate yourself on a potentially revolutionary concept. The Fair Tax would be, by many economist's opinions, a much better break for the poor, because everyone would get a prebate each month of the taxes they'll spend on the necessities. So it is, in effect, a luxury tax, that would encourage more people to save money. (And certainly, every economist I've spoken to agrees that it would also stimulate growth in America faster to numbers we haven't seen since the post-WWII years.) Educate yourself, rather than let those that stand to profit off of this current system to feed you lines like "It will hurt the poor."

Most voters don't have an idea about the federal sales tax.

Re: Ron Paul: They Won't Shut Me Up
Actually, sales taxes do hurt the poor as they prevent them from buying necessities. Also, encouraging people to save rather then spend slows down the economy. The best solution would be to neither a Federal income or sales tax.

Re: Ron Paul: They Won't Shut Me Up
The federal sales tax would be illegal, because people who have savings accounts would be taxed twice on the same income: Once, taxed as income, before the sales tax was implemented, and again after the sales tax is implemented and you take the money out to spend it.
