Re: The Curse of Faith
This first Condell that's made me laugh in a long time. He's pulled it out of the fire, his last few vids haven't been very good.

I happen to think it's not him being dull. Rather, it's us being conditioned to expect the same old out of him.

The true magic of faith is not getting what you wanted but believing you did anyway.

Re: Pat Condell: The Curse of Faith
whether we choose our faith or not, whether that faith is in religion, scientific theories, or our own autodidacticism, we all have faiths because without them we would be rendered paralyzed and helpless to make any decisions based on imperfect, partial information, which of course is what ALL information truly is.
if we're supposed to get off our high horse and realize that we're only one, possibly irrelevant part of a system of life, then perhaps we should also understand how and why faith is such an inevitable part of our lives. to pick out and damn one type of faith as counterproductive, violent, etc. and completely ignore the role and impact of all of our faiths on all of our lives is itself counterproductive, and easily given to violence.
faith isn't a crime against humanity, it's a part of humanity. perhaps some manifestations of faith should be treated more harshly than others, but not at the expense of a better understanding of ourselves.
