Hahahaha! Thats too funny.
I think though, that this is a perfect demonstration of some of the problems I have with the whole God/ no God debate. Atheists try to make theists look like complete idiots. And theists always seem to get into battles they just can't win and wind up looking like idiots.
I believe that there is a God, but I can't back it up with any real hard evidence. All I have is merely anecdotal evidence and that doesn't really fly in the scientific world. But I don't think that the lack of proof of the existence of God is proof of God's nonexistence.
I think that science and religion can work together, if the religion aspect doesn't destroy the science aspect. Theories like the Big Bang and Evolution really shouldn't be shunned by theists. I mean they are damn good explanations of how things came to be. Stephen Hawking said in his book "A Brief history of time", concerning the Big Bang, that we don't know how, but we have a pretty good idea when God created the universe.

Is there any reason that science and religion have to be separate? I can't think of one. But I'm not one of those who has their beliefs threatened by science. It's all a matter of ego, I guess.

Yeah, that was what I was trying to say. True religion should be backed up by true science.

Re: Why Don't We Die When the Sun Goes Down?
These atheists didn't do anything to try and make the caller look like an idiot. They didn't bait him with questions and try to get him to say that electricity in an outlet comes from lightning. Keep in mind that if a theist makes himself look stupid, that doesn't mean that it's the atheists fault.
It just so happens that the arguments which many theists use are completely idiotic, and it's only a matter of time before someone points that out. There are theists capable of defending their beliefs in an intelligent discussion, but the guy on the phone was definitely not one of them. As one of the hosts pointed out, there are many arguments which religious believers would do better to educate themselves on so that they're not made a fool of after bringing said argument up.

Re: Why Don't We Die When the Sun Goes Down?
You're completely right.
The atheists even tried to point the theists to a website where they can find some better arguments for the existence of god(s).
You can't ask a dumb question without getting a dumb answer.
