A game based on the popular "Warcraft 3: Element Tower Defense" and "Starcraft: Turret Defense" gameplay.
The object of the game is to prevent the hordes of monsters from getting to the castle by building element towers near the path.
You can choose from a number of different elements to build towers from.
The monsters will spawn every 20 seconds.
Their health will be multiplied by 1.25 with every wave.
If your towers fail to kill the monsters, and they do get the castle, a civilian of your castle will die.
When all your civilians die, the game will be over.

the leaf seems to be the best all around weapon once it is fully upgraded with 9000dmg and 200+ range. it just sucks in the beginning. the flower takes too long to fire. the best position seems to be at the head of a turn.

i found that the water with a range of 300 with about 7k damage to be more affective seeing as how it is shooting more cuz it can shoot farther... or even the one a level below that does 6k and 225 range even

Has anyone been able to get above 84? Low 80's seem to be typical with leaf towers. I get 84 with the following formation:

I'm a geek, I did a spreadsheet.
Leaf costs a total of 2375, has a damage of 9000 and range of 215
Water costs a total of 3360 has a damage of 7335 and range of 300
Fire costs a total of 2298 has a damage of 7021 and a range of 120
placing leaf items in the middle, then can almost reach the entire map with a range of 215, so careful placement of them should give you maximum efficiency. The problem with water is that it costs 50% more than leaf to get the range boost. At the 2nd highest level water has the same range as leaf for about the same cost, but much less damage.

leafs in the middle. Ignore what it claims you'll get when you upgrade. The values have been changed from what his images indicate. The best is leaf since its unlikely you'll be able to afford a fully upgraded flower at all. Its tempting because if you get it you can put it in the upper right corner and almost forget about it entirely.

However properly placed a fully upgraded flower is the king only costing 23000 for 909090 damage with a range of 90. Placed in a corner, it can defend you all day

and in regards to their hitpoints, its amazing we can survive to level 75 at all.
We don't know what they start with they can be expressed as:
Hitpoints = base x 1.25 ^ n - 1, n = the level you're on.
at level 74 that is base x 18546030 with your best weapon doing 9000 per shot. That means it takes 2060 shots from a single upgraded nature tower to take one out at level 75 if they start with 1 hp, and I'm fairly sure they start with more than that.
Weapons fire at a rate of: when my shot hits, I shoot again. So the further they are from something, the less frequent the damage and the less efficient they are.
We don't know what they start with they can be expressed as:

I dont know if its me or a graphics glitch but it seems the closer they are to the tower, the faster the tower shoots.
If so its definitely an exploitable trait.
Also, does anyone know how the ranges listed for the towers translate into squares in the game? Thats the key to winning, seeing which towers can reach the farthest and comparing that to their placement and their damage.

Couple things I noticed:
- You can get to any stage you want by holding down the space bar - a glitch in the game skips over stages repeatedly between rounds
- On some stages dots / enemies / whatever are weak for the first few turns. Hit em on those turns on they get strong again

I seem to have way better luck with the ice towers, got the flower tower once, but just couldnt save enough for the best version of it, but -- I did have 3 flower towers out.. but the darn things just go to fast, I'll try leaf's some more.. I do think a fourm for this would help! >_

I think that's just a glitch in the display, not their actual strength.
Having your strong towers dissapear sometimes when adding a new tower near it, that's a very annoying glitch!

Decompiled Secrets!
I used a Flash Decompiler to check out the source code of this game. There are quite a few bugs and misinformation contained within.
The health of each monster starts at 5 HP. It does NOT go up by 25% each stage. It is calculated by the formula: HP = HP*1.1+WAVE#*8.6
In other words, the health goes up by 10%, and then 8.6 times the wave number is added on top of that. It compounds each wave. So, early on, the HP increase is dramatic. By the time you get to wave 30, the HP of the monsters is only increasing by about 12%, and it levels off to about a 10% increase by level 50.
The Nature (leaf) Towers show incorrect Damage values on the upgrade button. However, at the final upgrade, the Damage value of 9000 is indeed correct.
The Flower Tower only costs 2000 gold to build. However, you must have 3000 in the bank to buy it. Horrible bug.
The amount of money each monster gives does not go up by 1 each wave. It is calculated by the formula: I (income) = I*0.02 + Wave#*1.1.
In other words, income is dropped to 2 percent of its original value, then is increased by 1.1 times the wave number. It is then rounded off.
A better way to say this: Monsters give you 1 more gold per wave each, except approximately every 8th wave, where their values go up by 2 each.
Useful bug: Bullets fired at 0, 90, 180, and 270 degree angles instantly hit their target. Placing towers at the ends of paths gives best efficiency.
To upgrade a Flower Tower to max level, it costs a total of 22,000 gold. If you bought nothing and made no upgrades, you would have 22,000 gold at wave 70. It does not seem possible or feasable to try for this upgrade.
The Range value is not a circular area, it's square. It's quicker for Flash to calculate, but not accurate. This gives the player an advantage.
The Fire Tower seems to be the most inefficient. At 2298 gold, it has 7021 damage and a short 120 range. Water has the best range at max upgrade, with a cost of 3360 gold, 7335 damage, 300 range. Nature costs 2375, has most damage at 9000, and range of 215.
The size of your towers are approx 30x30 pixels. This can help you figure out what the Range values actually mean.
Bug: If a weak monster reaches the castle, it will seem to still be weak when it spawns again. It is actually at full strength, and the first shot on it will display it correctly.

Therefore, if something is already there, it gets replaced. So do not place your towers diagonally above and to the right or diagonally below and to the left of each other. It is unlikely to happen, but when it does, it can make or break reaching that extra level.

I just completed a game using all Nature Towers, and scored 83. There is no way I would've made it even to level 70 without continually building those full-power Nature Towers, so I still think a maxed out Flower Tower is not practical.
I am wondering if the author made it to level 90 using a previous version of the game.

I just had a great idea (or so I think. It may not be).
It's possible that it would be more cost efficent to not fully upgrade the nature towers - is that last 1100 upgrade worth it, or are you better of saving the money and investing it into another tower?

Included is: Hp per wave, shots to kill with a max nature tower at 100% and 70%, income per monster per level, cumulative income, the max nature towers you can have per level based on income and the max amount of flower towers + 1 full nature tower you can have per level. A slightly slower increase, but towards the end you can have more flower towers than you can have nature towers which gives you more damage dealing capacity (since you do your most damage on the straight-a-way)
Also I included the proper range and damage values since whats given in game for some things is wrong.

No photo editing was done, however, after exploiting with the decompiled version of the game, I've come to discover that it would be impossible to reach any level after ~90 with the initial variables and formulas set with the game. (The 23000 flower tower is really called the "TTHHE ULLTIMMATTE TTOWWERR" and it fires bubbles)

I threw my back out the other day and ended up playing this game for nearly two days straight. It was a great mindless distraction. I got 80 about 4 times and high 70s almost all the other times. But now that I am feeling better, I never want to see this game again.
Unless they come out with Tower Defence 2 of course. ;)

man I want to email the guy that wrote this and have him fix the current errors and update it so the flower tower is Costs less and is faster - also - the storm clouds- pretty useless, you cant even upgrade, you should be able to upgrade them or have them do something "Extra" if you get something.

the final verdict people.... please there will be no reason to comment further
nature towers are the only towers that can carry you to the early 80's
shooting left right up and down is faster then diagonals
it is impossible to upgrade to the 23000 gold tower without cheating

Argh! Last night I made it up into the 60's without losing a single citizen and got to the mid 70's (76 I think?) before I finally died. Now I can't even make it past level 10 before I start losing people. How do I recapture the magic?

I just spent 4 hours playing Tower Defense maps on Warcraft III. I came on MilkandCookies after quitting, and what do I find? More Tower Defense games to play!!
Seriously, after playing these map mods for WCIII at a friends house, it prompted me to buy the game for myself. What you're all addicted to is even BETTER on WCIII. Hopefully the author of this game adds some complexity in a new version - slowing the creeps down, being able to sell old towers, etc.

My all time high score is 80. I have nver been able to repeat it. I can regularly hit 77-78. You need to use the green leaf towers as much as possible and place them at the turns. Good luck!

I finailly found a cheat for this game.......ok,,u set up the ur ppl for the first round,while they are shootin the dots,keep ur finger pressed down on the space bar..then watch the wave number go up,,,u can go as high as 203,,,but u still dont earn any money if you take it to high,,,,,,,

heh i found a glitch that allows you to skip lvls. After a wave just hold in the space bar, the only problem is that you won't be able to do anything against the "monsters."

Tower Defence 70+
Guys, just like this: Leaf tower on the end of any hallway. When i say hallway, i mean that it is firing directly at enemies. To get 90+ your placement must be pixel-perfect, and don't even bother with flowers until you find a hack.

My personal best without stacking or taking advantage of glitches is 93. Using my hall way trick, which isn't much of a trick but the fact that firing at point blank is way faster than ranged, is 129.

I have the right strategy
This is my 3rd day playing the game and I am very successful. My 1st time playing I got to 70. 2nd day I got as high as 77. Today I hit 78 and now 79. There are a few things to look for when placing items. 1 key thing is no reds or anythig just greens and blues. Dont get the flower 1 because its a waste and sucks even upgraded a couple times. Remember greens and blues and experiment.

Does anyone know how much money can be made per wave? I think with that number in mind (i think it changes depending on the wave) a total for a given number of waves (say you're trying to reach 90) can be determined and you can determine how much buying power you have at any point in the game.
Also, has anyone made a chart of some kind with all of the values of each of the towers (i.e. cost, dmg, rng) that I could see? It'd be nice to see where the price/damage/range jumps most for each type of tower.
Finally, I noticed that when buying the tank (flower tower?) it says it costs 3000 which is the initial cost required to buy it, but after you purchase it, you'll still have 1000 left in the account. Probably a bug or maybe an intentional "rebate" for buying a tank.

i don't understaqnd the whole element thing because its not like the enemies are earth water fire wind and lightning so i dunno just doesn't make sence to have it there yoiu should re vamp it and just make different defence with out the elements and just put 5$ 20 dmg 10$ 40 dmg etc anyways i got 68 shitty poo ness i pee on this game ill just go play starcraft tower defence because oil is good to drink when your low on sider
