Improv Everywhere: Best Game Ever
Improv Everywhere’s latest. For their latest mission, they turned a little league baseball game in Hermosa Beach, California into a major league event.

Again, this is not improv. At best, the announcers did some off-the-cuff commentary that might be improvish, but that's normal for commentators. Planning an event....having "dedicated" fans, etc., is not improv......they placed actors somewhere, but that seems like a very different sport form improv.....really, where is the improv? The players played the same game, the fans just watched, and the planted fans did their planted maneuvers. Bottom line: orchestrating social shenanigans is not improv.

I agree that planned events are not improv, though the dialogue may be spontaneous, the scenes are not.

That said, there are some rare true-improv scenes (like the 5-foot-ledge jumper) in the Improv Everywhere library that trump all these recent "events" (like the Mall Musical before this one).

Who the fuck cares, its a name for a group that likes to have fun in public. You don't piss and moan about a sports team not actually being indians or devil rays, so stfu. Its just a name.

"Whoa! Settle down, YouTube commenter. We are not claiming that what we are doing is improv. The majority of Improv Everywhere Agents met each other through the Upright Citizens Brigade Theatre in New York, the nation’s most awesome improv theatre and school. The name reflects our idea of taking some of the skills we learned at UCB and bringing them to life in public places. We stay in character at all costs and interact with members of the public with no script beyond the mission’s idea. We have no idea how people are going to react to us, and that is where the improvisation comes in. Sometimes people misread our URL as “Improve Everywhere.” We think that’s probably a better name for what we try to do."

Haveing participated in a handful of missions, the improv comes when those not in on it interact with those in the mission.
