The videos of John's home life with his son go great with the theme of the song -- which is about the criticism of his "retirement"... but the videos show what he was really doing all those years - raising his son.
Even 28 years later, it's hard not to feel the sense of loss. It's one of the great ironies that John, so devoted to the peace movement, was killed so violently.
