New Feature: Related Links

Each of the link pages now displays a couple of links related to the current one.
Just another way to explore the 70,000 links in our database, collected over the last seven years.

Loved it, though at first I thought it was a new way to navigate to the next or prior current posting.

we re-used the display code from next/prev in a series, so it certainly has that feel.

The algorithm is grabs a list of related links based on tags and displays two links randomly. The random element is there so that you don't get the same suggestions all the time.
It's more complicated that this, but that's the gist of it.

I can appreciate the random generator, but I see many of the same links showing up in the two related. Not that I'm complaining, being that many are my own. Heh.
Still, it's a fun feature to have here. Not quite the greatest addition but ranks right up there.

It depends largely on the tags associated with the links. The more tags the more variety to choose from. Also, it's kind of version 1.0. There are already plans to improve it, but we wanted to go live sooner than later.
