Sure they're pretty, but can they fight?

My guess is yes, yes they can.

Re: Chinese Army Remix
Now all they need is to get their special forces on par and they'll really be a force to reckon with.

Re: Chinese Army Remix
even though their only armed with sticks compared to us, the are still a force to be reckoned with. Also this movie is a tad bit outdated. I think by now since they have the money they should buy everyone AK-47s and then we have a problem.

Re: Chinese Army Remix
Awesome. Together with the Chinese army, we can usher in a whole new era of wholesale, human slaughter.

Re: Chinese Army Remix
the chinese arent any slouches. we cant go over there and take them over overnight.

the difference between all the other major military forces of the world and the united states is power projection.

we have the means not only to touch anywhere in the world with nuclear weapons, but we also can put troops on the ground, planes in the air, and ships in the water anywhere at a moment's notice.

and for the most part, no one would see us do it. ;)

Re: Chinese Army Remix
The chinese army is the complete opposite of ours. we have only a few extremely well equipped soldiers because we love are troops(not that they don't) and we don't want them to die. I first heard people start bitching about Iraq when only 200 soldiers had died. Its war, and 200 is few. Now we are up at what? 2,000.

But the Chinese aren't afraid to die, if any thing their more partiotic than us. because their willing to go into combat with only what semi automatics.

Re: Chinese Army Remix
In a battle of attrition the Chinese would annihalate all comers. Give them a couple of decades and their projection capabiities will not be seconded. You're talking a standing army of approximately 500 million. Their industrial capacity will increase sevenfold in the coming years. Very difficut to combat that. But, it is very unlikely in any event the US and China will come to blows. Too much to lose on both sides.

Re: Chinese Army Remix
Of course fullscale war would not happen.

We both have nukes, the cold war really supports the theory that the nuclear weapons are so horrible no one is willing to use them, or declare war on someone who has them. Its the Kind of weapon Paficists have been searching for, like the gatling gun.

Re: Chinese Army Remix
Okay, so 1/2 of all Chinese citizens are in the military?!? Really, where do you get your information? It is the lack of transparency in the Chinese stock market (i.e. the permissiveness of the Chinese stock “owners” versus the actual market conditions) that hinders their ability to raise additional foreign capital (see the empty Trade-market on “Front-Line” vs. the show-room trade floor). This deficiency is obviously offset by the massive ownership of American debt by the Chinese. Long story short, we rely on each other. We are clearly symbiotic rather than parasitic . . . for now.
