The fish just seems to be a combination of Brian(Talking Pet) and Quagmire(Horny For mother).

Everybody loves a horny fish ;) I think he is funny! But this pilot wasn't on the same level as the family guy. I hope it gets a bit better and it will be booya! indeed :)

Pilot episodes rarely are hilarious considering they have to outline the characters for the first time.

I saw the Family Guy prototype (I hesitate to call it a pilot) on Cartoon Cartoon. It had Brian and Peter, but I don't remeber it being that funny.

It did start off slow, but picked up near the end. I think the same thing could be said about this as was said about Futurama...
When Futurama came out, people said, "Hey! They look like Simpsons characters! This isn't going to be different at all."
Family Guy: "It's not by the same guy, but it's just another family situation cartoon show, like the Simpsons!"
American Dad: "They look like Family Guy characters! Everyone's the same, just drawn differently."
We saw how Futurama and Family Guy took off on their own, and surely American Dad will do the same if given the chance.
I will say the fish seems a little too much like having a talking dog... at the same time, it sounds like there's a story behind it. The dad did mention "a fish with a German brain". Achtung, baby!

That was fucking beyond lame. What are you fucking dorks thinking? Family Guy rocked, so therefore, WHAT THE FUCK WAS THAT? That was fucking pathetic.
I pray that it was just a fucking scrapped idea that investors forced to materialize. That was fucking pathetic, especially given the loser dorks that are now enshrining it.
