From the 1940's, it may be old, but the facts ring true, today.

Re: Despotism
Sorry, in my haste to post, I neglected to mention that this is a politically charged video clip.

Re: Despotism
This needs to be a headline. 10 points for Amazing. 15 points for being true. 20 points for being ~60 years old and still be relevant to 2005. Not to sound like an oldie, but young people need to start taking interest in politics, or else old people will take care of it for you. This goes way beyond voting. Participating in politics, making your voice heard, that's democracy. Not representation by a select few. We the people, or we the stockholders? You decide.

Re: Despotism
Amazing. I used screenshots from this movie in a short animation I made, over a year ago.
So very coincidental to find it here!

Re: Despotism
Was that animation politically charged as well?
I'm assuming that everyone knows which world leader in 2005 that I was referring to by posting this.

Re: Despotism
Notice how they condem racism as being despotic way back in the 40's? And even today, people would criticize this for undermining the system, what with the immobilized news services socio-economic dichotomy inherent therein.

Spam, this may quite possibly be the greatest find ever. I wish I could vote higher than 10.

Re: Despotism
Everyone could stand to learn from this clip.
It's astounding just how little America has progressed over the last 60 years.
:-( It makes me sad.

Re: Despotism
Would it be wrong of me to stand up and say that our country has done some astoundingly "progressive" things over the last 60 years that indeed make the US of the 1940's look uniquely despotic. Timelessness is great--- "Dumbo" still holds up --cheer up

Re: Despotism
I've not found too many people more negative than you. And your voting reflects that. 166 votes with an average of 3.1? What, do you just click on links that you hate?

Re: Despotism
Where did I say that? Please don't put words in my mouth. I'll afford you the same luxury.
